New Courses: Diploma in Baking Technology -first self supporting course designed and introduced in the year 1998 in GRI in the dept. of RIM under the Headship Dr.N.Thillainayagam.

Short vocational training programmes to Self Helf Group in Tamil Nadu designed and conducted to 6990 Rural women/SHG members sponsored by District Rural Development Agency of various districts in Tamil nadu. Total fund received as on Aug.2005 was RS.20,74,800/-

Vocational and EDP training to the student s of GRI and near by colleges were also designed and conducted to 379 students of as on Aug 2005.

Established laboratory for conducting Bakery and confectionery training and conducting the Diploma in baking Tech. Programme.

Established mini lab. with all machinery and equipments to conduct Short term training to Rural Women / Rural Youth and the students

1. Carrying out the programme in the institute as directed by the authorities.

The above film shows were attended by students of Department of GT & PS. First year students of B.Com, (Co-op), and students of M.B.A. programmes.

Dr.Thangasamy, Principal Lakshmi Teacher Training College was ho resource person. He demonstrated the Art of Speaking English with his new book on Spoken English to college students, lie made the student to speak good English on the stage it self. The interaction and the feed back was very much appreciated.

Major victim to alcohol are the youth and students. In order to create awareness on the evils of alcohol a programme was organized on 12.9.07 at Seminar Hall of (GT & PS. Shri.A.Narayan, Director, People Against Alcohol Drug Abuse and Merchandise (PAADAM) Trust D. 108 A. Sangeetha Colony, Anna Road. K.K. Nagar, (Chennai 78 was the resource person for the above programme. Shri.A.Vijayakumar, WORLD Trust 94 CF, 10^th Street, D-Block, Anna Nagar, Chennai - 40 was invited to speak on the evils of alcohol and drugs.

The above person dedicated their service to eradicate alcohol by making a people movement against alcohol. The students were asked to arrange signature campaign against alcohol and they took pledge not to touch alcohol.

With a view to develop leadership qualities among the youth a programme was organized on 13.9.07 at Seminar Hall of GT&PS.

Shri.N.M.Nambikkai Manian, HR consultant, Centre for HRD., 2/110 Jyothi Street, Deivaseyalpuram 528 851, Ph.No. 9842591086 were invited to give train the students in personality development.

The students of Gandhian Thought (NSS unit 7 l&ll) have attended the programme. The programme was highly useful to the students and response was appreciable.

The Seminar on Homeopathy was organized to the students in the Dept. of GTPS on 15.10.07 to create awareness on alternate treatment.

In the eve of Children’s day on 14.11.07 a student rally was organized with the students from the schools of Chinnalapatti to raise voice against alcoholism.

Vocational training to 240 women from Nilgiri district conducted in batches for 12 days from 27.4.06 to 8.5.06. The Programme was sponsored by District Rural Development Agency, Nilgiri district. Total fund received was Rs.2,12,400/-

Organized Vocational training to more than 6000 SHG women from more than ten districts in Tamil Nadu.

Disseminate improved baking process to bakeries in rural areas all over tamilnadu by making lingage with Tamilnadu bakers Federation and Dindigul bakery owners Association.

Provide necessary knowledge to start training centres to impart training in micro enterprise to NGO (SSH)-Sempatty,Gandhi -kanyakurukulam, Veda]

Assisting the dept. of RIM in organizing village camps under the scheme of "University at the village door step" under the vice-chancellorship of Shri’Devendrakumar, (Mulaiyr, Nathamblock, Mettupatty Athoorblock etc.)

Organising campaign aginst some of the social problems like Prohibition, social harmony, untouchability, Noice pollution etc., participated Two rally against prohibition, untouchability etc., Participated in one rally at Dindigul aginst noice pollution. Assisted in organizing Cycle rally from Kanyakumari to Rastrapathy bhavan, Chennai against Noise pollution.

One of the organizer of Salt satyagrha yatra to Vedaranyam to commumerate the 75^th year Dhandi Salt satyagraga to rejuvenate the the sprit of freedom struggle to the youth and students.

Assisted in propagate the Gandhian thought to the rural people, school children, by conducting: Exhibition of Photos, pictures on Gandhian life history in the schools. Arranging film shows Gandhi, documentary films, feature films on freedom struggle in the villages during village camps and NSS camps
