The Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI)-Deemed University was established by University Grants Commission vide its letter No.F.319/2008 (SCT) dated 26th March 2008. It started to function in June 2010 as per UGC guidelines. Since its inception, the centre is marching towards achieving the goal of a more inclusive and just society through teaching, research, extension and networking with the third sectors. So far, the centre has conceptualized and understood the process, nature and forms of exclusion and has identified the excluded communities such as Dalits, Adivasis, Women, children, minorities, ageing population and Transgender etc. located in the vicinity of GRI. Currently, the centre engaged in identifying the unmet need of policies, the challenges ad prospects of inclusive policies.
