Department of Economics

Established in the year 1956, the Department has the vision of Excellence in Education, Research and Extension towards integrated and prosperous rural economy. The Department offers programmes and courses in Economics and its branches, conducts need based rural economic research surveys and studies, organizes seminars and workshops and undertakes outreach and consultancy activities in economics. The thrust areas include Academia of Rural Finance and Banking. Energy Economics, Environmental Economics, Resource Economics, Development Economics, International Economics, Agricultural Economics, Health Economics, Gender Economics and Demographic Studies
